Ukraine Government Bonds

last update: 19.05.2026 18:36

Domestic government loan bonds of Ukraine (also known as government bonds) are government securities issued on the domestic stock market. Government bonds represent Ukraine’s obligations to reimburse their holders for the nominal value and to pay interest in accordance with the terms of issuance.

Government bonds are issued by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and sold to dealers and their clients on the primary market to finance the needs of the state budget. Trading in government bonds in Ukraine is carried out exclusively in electronic form. The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) acts as the depository of government bonds, i.e., the institution responsible for maintaining their centralized electronic records.

Government bonds are considered the most reliable securities in Ukraine, as their full repayment (100% of the nominal amount) is guaranteed by the state.
